Please help {St.Jude Children’s Hospital}

Nico’s school is participating in the St. Jude’s Trike-A-Thon Fundraiser this week. Over 6800 pre-schools around the nation are raising $7.7 mio for St. Jude’s. As part of this not only do they teach the kids about bike and trike safety all week long but they are also instilling pride in helping others. As part of this his school has set a fund raising goal of $2500 for themselves. This money will go directly to support St. Jude’s cancer research efforts and help families in need.

I am in awe of what St. Jude’s does for families battling childhood cancer. I cannot imagine what it must be like to go through this with a child. I hope I will NEVER EVER have to experience this.

Did you know that St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay. That’s HUGE! Imagine having the worry of how to pay for all of those treatments taken away from you… and being able to solely focus on your child and the road to recovery.

Speechless {Austin Family Photographer}

I was speechless when I skimmed through my card after this session was done. These kids are so adorable beyond words and what a gorgeous family!! This was one of the family sessions I had to cancel due to the complete lack of good wildflower fields this spring. They wanted spring family pics and mark little L.’s upcoming first birthday. Still in disbelief that this sweet girl has already turned One, seems like yesterday that I was over at their house when she was just 3 months!

So glad that we found the perfect spot to do their session. I did not want to leave there, perfect light on a quiet Sunday morning with perfectly adorable company! Happy Birthday Miss L.! I quite adore your two-and-a-half teeth smile:)

SHANNA NASSERFAR FELDSTEIN - LOVE IT, THEY ARE PRICE LESS

Brandnew and sweet {Austin Newborn Photographer}

I’ve been torturing mama on this sneak peek. I’ve meant to have it up yesterday and time got away from me. It’s been a couple of busy weeks so catching up is the order of the day.

This sweet little girl came to me close to 2 weeks old. She wasn’t a big sleeper but in this family the little ones have a ton of energy. You might remember her “big sister” from this session when she gave me a pretty good workout chasing her around the playground. Needless to say getting some family shots with a super wiggly toddler was a little challenging:)

We did manage to lull little Miss D. to sleep for a couple of minutes here and there but I really loved how attentive she was while awake. Usually newbies make all kinds of funny faces when awake which is why it works so much better to have them sleepy for their newborn session but this one was just calmly checking everything out. Love her blue eyes!

The owl hat was a present from her aunt and I could not believe how opinionated she was about it. We’ve tried several times but she really was not into wearing it. Hmm, wonder what it will be like when she’s in her teens!

I am absolutely loving the skin to skin shots with her and daddy. So great that dads come in willing to do that!

Anyways, I know mama is waiting so without further ado, here’s Miss Dylan! Welcome sweet little girl!

Love those boys {Austin Family Photographer}

These folks have been clients of mine for what seems like forever, when big brother was a newborn actually. I know I am repeating myself but seeing kids grow up and families grow bigger is one of the biggest privileges you’ll get being a photographer. I look forward to seeing them every time and it gets more fun with every session. There’s a feeling of comfort and trust when you build a relationship over years. It expands into your personal life and their lives, you become part of it. Just thinking about it makes me realize all over again why I got into this in the first place. The connections I make are extremely special to me and I will always always do my best to not take that for granted and make them last. I am super excited to venture into other areas and work together with mom on some other projects.

But back to this recent session (bluebonnet patch might look familiar from the previous post), little S. has changed so much in just a few months. These two brothers are turning into a handsome double. They are so close already and as S. is getting older I think they’ll be best of friends and have a blast together. Can’t wait to see them again soon! And H. if your momma is reading this to you, you are welcome to come over and play trains anytime!

Bluebonnets nonetheless…{Austin Children’s Photographer}

Although extremely slim pickings of bluebonnets this year we managed to pull off a couple of mini sessions earlier in the month. It was so fun to meet all the little ones. Love it when those little personalities come out!
