Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and it’s time to post about a Valentine’s special I’ll be running starting tomorrow. Instead of doing mini sessions back-to-back I will take a limited number of mini session shoots this week and the beginning of next week.

The minis are for a 30min shoot in studio for up to 2 people. Session includes min 5 proofs in online gallery and 24 wallet sized valentines for $150 (+tax).

Prints, digital files and other specialty and custom products are available for purchase as well.

I am thinking she’s a thinker {Austin Newborn Photographer}

Meet lovely Miss T. who made her entrance just a few weeks ago. I ‘ve got to meet her in all her newborn baby goodness and oh my how beautiful she is! I always always get so excited when one of my clients has another baby, it’s so nice to share the joy and excitement of their new life about to join their family. With this one the burning question was if she will have red hair like her big brother. He’s one of the sweetest little dudes I’ve ever met and that red hair of his is almost legendary.

Well, it looks like the jury is still out on what color her hair will turn but by the looks of it she’ll be a “thinker”. You know the kind that observes everything very contently and looks like they know a thing or two about the world already. She was awake for a good portion of her newborn shoot but never really got upset, she just observed. I had some fun trying out my new sweet Macro lens, oh what a joy to get so close to all this newborn baby squishyness and capture all those tiny details:)

Yummy Acorns {Austin Family Photographer}

Another lovely fall evening session from November. I had the pleasure of photographing this family once before in their home when their little one was about 3 months. Again, what a joy to see these babies later in the year and see that amazing transformation from bundled baby to a speed crawling, curious, little boy. Mom had her hands full trying to keep him from gobbling up the acorns that were all around. He “tasted” a few but no worries no acorns or babies were hurt in the process.I can’t get over his blue eyes, they are so gorgeous!

Lovely (Texas) Fall {Austin Family Photographer}

So hard to believe this session was just a few month ago, we really had a pretty awesome fall (for Texas). Seems crazy that we were sweating there but the light was truly awesome for this fun evening session. I know mom from my past work life but haven’t met her whole family yet. Little N. had just turned one and mastered the fine art of walking and the sweet princess is just about a year younger than my daughter. I love that age and how curious and social kids get, I remember she had lots of questions for me:)

Really absolutely enjoyed the session although dad was being tortured by some major allergies. And for those that look really close – No, we did not loose the little guy’s head, just an unfortunate camera angle coupled with the little man truely enjoying that little swing and throwing himself all into it. We got some with head too but this one made me giggle.

So…where were we? Holiday sessions catch up {Austin Children’s Photographer}

Happy New Year to all of my wonderful clients and friends!! May 2011 bring lots of joy, happiness, good health, success and most of all – love!

2010 has been a whirlwind year with lots of new challenges but mostly I ‘ve been so fortunate to see so many familiar faces. I truly don’t take it for granted that I have a good base of established clients that I get to see throughout the year. Some of them have been on this journey with me from the very beginning. It’s incredible to watch the kids grow and change. I always wonder how in the world I get to be so lucky to be part of that journey of parenthood, with my own children and in capturing those precious moments for other families. In looking back I’d say that 2010 has been a year of personal growth for me, in finding “me” in this venture that is my photography. I’ve worked incredibly hard and the rewards have been priceless but at the same point I’ve struggled to find balance. Balance between my work and personal life, in working to be successful but also making time for my kids. After all they ARE the reason I started in this business. So 2011 will be all about balance for me, that ever elusive line we all walk on juggling work, a business, a family and every other demand that life throws at you.

I am hoping to be able to expand my services into some other areas, namely I am really anxious to do more birth photography sessions. It’s something I truly have a passion for but more on that in a later post. I’ve got lots of ideas brewing in my head and I am excited to put them into action over the next year.

The last few months have been incredible busy and I promised I would catch up on sharing some pics from sessions throughout the holiday season, so without further ado let’s get caught up…

These two beautiful girls are the kids of good friends and it’s always so much fun when I get to photograph them. They are both absolutely adorable and I love them with all of my heart!
